Neik (pronounced “neek”) is the first conceptual character I came up, somewhere around 2011. I use her most and she is “responsible” for a number of things, including How To Sleep (zine), Conscious Float (site), and Achromatic Dissolutions. All of my characters I’ve created are interconnected and appear in each other’s work. They are somewhat “friends” and even lovers.
Unlike my other fictional characters, she has most of my characteristics, but is definitely still her own entity. A lot of her personality is a reflection of my own, but there is plenty that I make up along the way. She lives a different life – a life I’d be curious to have. I guess a lot of author’s feel like that about their characters.
The beautiful image is by Barnaby Ward or Somefield. He gave me permission to use a couple of images that I thought were a perfect representation of Neik Glasshouse. Here is another one I used.
